What causes the most common type of fire in the home?

Most common type of fire in home.

Electrical and oil fires top the list in my personal opinion.

Overloaded extensions, connections without a plug, leaving hot plates ON, not using proper fuses or bypassing it, cables which have damaged insulation which then are left open on flammable stuff, leaving oil on the heat and leaving.

I urge, everyone to kindly look at the above and do something is you see it in your house.  Electrical fires are and spread extremely fast, the smoke is most toxic and should not be inhaled.  Look behind your electronic appliances.  Clear all the wires and roll them up and secure them properly by using the stuff you get in IKEA and elsewhere.

Invest in a fire blanket and a fire extinguisher and make sure everyone knows where it is specially your housemaid.  Have your children trained in house emergency plans on what to do if they see smoke or smell smoke.  Every house maid and people who stay at home should know how to use a fire blanket safely.

While appliances and electrical components take the lead in this, we must not rule our other causations. Some researches and data are taken from different countries show different major causation due to a number of factors including: geographical location, economics, household members (children) and other. i.e. candles are just one major causation in a household culture and cooking is a major causation in another household culture.
