How you can maintain quality during mass production operation?

Set up a quality control department. Hire qualified personnel in the field. Have them set up the system. Quality starts from the supplier of raw material to end product. Failure in any stage will cause defects. Too much quality quality control will bog down production.

The best way to maintain quality in mass production is to have error proofing systems (Poka Yoke) in each process station.

The moto of error proofing is,

A Process station,

Will not accept a defective product

Will not Produce a defective prduct

Will not pass a defective product to next process station.

integrating any of this three in combination or in individual to each process station reduces the opportunities for defects and automatically screen out defective products during mass production.

Since inspection is a non value added activity, the above idea makes the need of manual/ complicated inspection systems  minimal.

If it is asked as a whole organization context, a Good QMS practice ( NOT just certification) and continuous assessement and maintaining the same will do the trick.

 

 

First & foremost quality matrix , quality assurance & control methods are clearly chalked out in all manufacturing organizations and service providing companies. But the approach towards quality management may vary from company to company depending on the product or service.

 

Coming to the question in hand , Statistical Sampling & Control Chart methods are what I feel meet the requirement.
