Psychometric assessments are extremely valuable when used in addition to a thorough recruitment process, and offer insights that can't be obtained through a regular job interview.

Do agree with your comment partially, with last employer, we used to do a lot psychometric testing and it helps a lot in assessing their personality and their possible future outcomes. I believe that well established HR divisions are working on it and may be mid-level organization don't want to invest in this exercise.
