Social Media is a Platform which gives high salary, job satisfaction, good career etc.etc, but most importantly it snatches jobs from those employees who have no knowledge of Social Media and can only work which they have been trained for so long.  Companies seek different reasons to fire or eliminate them concerning that they have become an overburden and over paid employees. So it is effecting to an employees as an individual but giving profit to the Organizations upto certain level or more.

social media has affected most of the roles in the company so much that little are done face to face on like before. It provides brands with an intimate platform to connect with customers and shape their perceptions, whether through timely and targeted promotions, responsive customer service or the creation of communities of interest.

With so many companies utilizing social media as part of the business module, additional jobs have been created. Not so much that existing job roles are being affected, but rather new positions are becoming available. In reality, marketing within a company requires an entire team. The people in charge of traditional marketing don't have the time or the know-how to take care of social media marketing, so that requires bringing in someone who has the right certification and level of knowledge to handle that specific aspect of marketing.

Really depends on the ability of the employees to adapt to new platforms/changes. Those who adapted stayed, those who didn't adapt after taining and coaching by the company or couldn't had to be replaced.

Facebook, twitter, Instragram, linkedin etc... have brought in several opportunities to job roles in companies. Infact, I believe they affect a company in several ways.

Internally since most of the staff of companies are already engaged in some form of social media it is can also prove to be an interesting window into how employees feel about the organisation. For Human resource managers, social media platforms are a good source to help in terms of recruitment, post job opportunities. Sales teams can use platforms like linkedin to generate key contact persons from various industries and even engage with them.

Sales and marketing is another important aspect of social media that helps to know about customers - views/expectations/responsed/ habbits. It can present opportunities to find new target audiences. If used well, it can help shape the right corporate views to the consumers and can also help address concerns or complaints. The need for experts to manage and handle the social media front of organisations has also created new jobs.

With the rise of social media, many small businesses have had to alter their operational strategies to adapt. Social media affects business of all sizes in several different ways. Because of social media, businesses must make their brands more personal, market their products differently and communicate with customers in new ways. All these changes have significantly inlfuenced the job roles in the companies, traditional marketers roles have and are constantly being reshaped by new challenges and opportunities arising from social media.
