The future of PHP is very bright becasue of its frameworks. Now a days 75% to 80% of the web applications are developed in PHP. Even now a days many developers use core PHP to dvelop their applications. And also bacause of the PHP frameworks, PHP is getting more and more popular in developers because Frameworks made very easy to develop a complex application. As a matter of fact PHP community is much stronger than ever. And bacasue of the stronger community of the PHP, more developers are using PHP and Framworks because new developers get easy help from the community.

Next couple of major updates 4.6 (August) and 4.7 (December)will be in PHP. I think the transition to Angular/Node is in chords, but it will be gradually done without affecting the users. OR it will come as a whole new version without abandoning the present PHP based system.
