Depends how the two things are connected. If the Induction m/c is connected separately but from the same supply source, it's load will entirely depend upon its regular running speed. Starting load will be higher. Now the transformer has its own application and supplying load or you can say it is loaded as per the load connected to it.

Now if the Transformer is connected to the bus which is feeding this Induction M/C, then again the load of the M/C depends upon its speed or FLA rating. Transformer in fact is feeding a system, so of course it will carry more load than the single induction M/C.

Transformer is not considered as load, current depend on load which connected to transformer

current for induction machine depend on its power

Transformer does not consumes any power except internal losses (iron losses). It supplies power to the connected devices. To answer the question you must define the connected load rating of induction machine and also about transformer connected load.

I think your question is which of the two equipments (having same rating) will take higher no-load current.

Induction motor will take more no-load current than transformer of same rating.

Reason:

No-load current comprises of two components:

  1. Magnetizing current
  2. Current corresponding to the no load losses of equipment

In transformer, the medium for the flow of magnetic flux is iron core. Iron core offers less reluctance to the flow of flux. So the magnetizing current required to produce the flux is less.

In case of induction motor, the medium for flux is air. It offers more reluctance than iron core. So, the motor takes more magnetizing current compared to the transformer.
