What is the way to produce Electricity from methane gas?

Using Turbines, the high pressure methane gas can be utilized for generating Electricity through generators. The methane can be obtained as a by product of solids waste in a Sewage treatment plant.So the power needed to run the plant can be produced within the plant. This is one way to do it besides many others.

natural gas after purification is subjected to burn in  a gas turbine to run a electricity generator to produce electricity. the exhaust  hot gases are passed through water tube boiler to produce steam that again subjected to a steam turbine that add energy to main gas turbine shaft to further produce electricity.

Use it as fuel in a gas turbine-generator set

The most basic natural gas-fired electric generation consists of a steam generation unit, where fossil fuels are burned in a boiler to heat water and produce steam that then turns a turbine to generate electricity.

Use methane gas as fuel for internal combustion engines or use it as fuel for boiler and then use steam for steam turbine (external combustion engine) then power the electric generator with these engines to produce electricity.

Methan can be used as fuel gas to turn turbine that drive the electric generator which covert mechanical into electricity.  

On other hand, getting the methane and use the local resource to have instie of buying it is becoming green energy by having landfill-to-energy system. which is producing methane from wast and trash in the same time converting the dump place for trash into something useful as park where family can enjoy.
