Height is one factor but what about fundamental periods of two structure of dimensions (L1xB1XH) 100mx100mx10m and (L2xB2XH) 20mx20mx10m ? Are they same?

Frequency is responsible for the period of a structure.Frequency (omega) is dependent on (k/m)^0.5.In which k stands for the stiffness of the building and m-stands for the mass of the building.As stiffness increases the frequency increases.We know that frequency is inversely proportional to time period.

Overall when structures are considered the stiffness and the mass of the structure governs the behavior of the building.By using water tanks at the top of the structure it shows better resistance to earthquakes.Thus making it advisable to provide water tanks at the top of the structure.Hoping the answer is understandable
