There are some simple steps and procedures that can be done to alleviate this culture shock, including:

Try to observe and listen. Try taking some language courses before you go. Embrace their culture and try to learn more about it before you go. Learn about their food and don't be affraid of trying new flavors. Just don't forget to enjoy it while being there :)
