How can we effectively use bio gas as major power source?Is it reliable?

Biogas can be used as a power source simply by using it as input into specifically designed generators, normally methane (natural gas) generators adapted to the biogas specific composition, usually with-% methane,-% CO2 and N2 and others for the remaining part (depending by the input to the biogas process and by the process itself).

I was director in a company manufacturing gasification plants, and the generators normally used were CH4 Cummins adapted to biogas composition. If the biogas is not loaded with char, that could severely affect the functioning of the engine, it is pretty reliable.
