What is the difference between by-product and co-product and how do you differentiate them in BOM ?

Co-product = Main product + additional product (Both products are planned pdts. and are of equal importance)

By-product= Unplanned/Side product produced during production of main product (is of least importance if it can not be used as a raw material for any other process or industry)
