What are the types of tap changer?

On-load tap changer and off-load tap changer

on-load tap changer (OLTC) AND  off load/ no load tap changer (NLTC)

On Load and Off Load Tap Changer. On Load Tap Changer requires RTCC Panel to remotely operate. But in Off Load manual mechanize shall be done.

Off load tap changer usually demonstrated as (NLTC OR DETCH) and second one is on load tap changer (OLTC) which come mechanical,thyristor assisted and thyristor tap changer
