Advantages:

Can highlight and explain the basics of a problem
Can be efficient in helping to address an issue
Can help physically in emergency situation having hand on experience
Can supervise the work of staff

Disadvantages:

May lack a diagnostic vision
May not be effective overlooking the importance the issue
May not be proactive
May not manage multi tasking
