1.acsr r al+ steel and aaac are only made up of steel .

2 ACSR has a poorer resistance to corrosion, as it contains steel, which is prone to rust. AAAC and AAC have a better corrosion resistance, due to the fact that they are largely or completely aluminium. In an ACSR the galvanised steel core carries the mechanical load and the high purity aluminium carries the current. These utilise the lower thermal expansion coefficient of steel compared to aluminium, which the aluminium based conductors AAC and AAAC are unable to do.

The biggest difference between AAC, AAAC, and ACSR conductors are the materials they are constructed from. AAC is manufactured from electrolytically refined aluminium with a99.7% minimum purity, AAAC is made from an Aluminium alloy, and ACSR contains a combination of Aluminium reinforced with Steel. The second factor that differentiates the three cables is their resistance to corrosion, which is important for the longevity of the cable. AAAC IS FOR ALL ALUMINIUM ALLOY CONDUCTOR ( PURELY ALUMINIUM CONDUCTOR)

ACSR IS FOR ALLUMINIUM CONDUCTOR STEEL REINFORCED (ALLUMINIUM WITH STEEL MIXED CONDUCTOR)

Types of OHTL (1) AAC All Aluminum Conductor. (2) AAAC All Alloy Aluminum Conductor. (3) ACAR Aluminum Conductor, Alloy Reinforced. (4) ACSR Aluminum Conductor, Steel Reinforced

AAAC conductors are have lower weight in comparison to ACSR conductor. For the same ampacity, diameter of AAAC conductors will also be less.

AAAC conductor offers excellent electrical characteristics, excellent sag-tension characteristics and superior corrosion resistance to that of ACSR.

AAAc and ACSR

1. AAAC (all alluminium alloy conductor).

2. ACSR(Alluminium conductor stell reinforced)

So let me tell you i had worked with both conductor.

in terms of conductivity AAAC is good as it have only alluminium conductors. There is no steel so strength is less. U get problem when u bend aaac for loops jumpers. But as there is no steel the hardware requied are low. Like there it dont required stell dead end . it reduces cost and time of pressing stell dead end and all.

so today most transmission company are moving for AAAC.

AAAC- all aluminium alloy conductor

ACSR- Aluminum core steel reinforced.

AAAC- high conductivity, high cost, low mechanical strength

ACSR- comparatively low conductivity, low cost, and high mechanical strengh due to steel
