Is it advisable to make the detail in sketchUp or should be in autocad and the sketchUp is just for presentation only?

SketchUp has come a long way since its inception. 

Now with additional plugins SketchUp can be used for all purposes.

There is no other tool in industry that would help you build a quick presentation model other than SketchUp.

AutoCAD on the other hand has been used for such a long period that most people will not think twice while going for detailing.

If you make a good detailed model in SketchUp printing out all kind of details are more of a quick task.

AutoCAD has also grown into multiple branches that it has specialised software for each discipline now.

It depends, if the detail for presentation only you can make it with sketchup. If the details for somthing that will be fabricated for example the autocad is the best solution.
