What is the value of learning languages?

Breaking of cultural barriers, learning a language will introduce you into the culture of that particular language. It does not matter if you are learning german,english,arabic or chinese. By learning the language,by reading books,watching tv shows,speaking to people you will regardless of you wanting or not, you will pick up some local customs. You broaden your horizons and by this you become a more knowledgeable,multicultural person.
