What is your plan in new job as production manager in factory for woodwork?

you will start with collecting all information from different departments

- ask HR in-charge to provide you with detailed manpower ( including job descriptions, salary structure, KPI reports, deployments&replacements, and any other documents like company chart, factory layout, policies & regulations regarding sanctions&misconduct and promotions ...etc

some companies will provide you this information through orientation process but my advice be initiative and ask, don't wait

- ask  procurement in-charge to provide you with inventory reports for the last previous year.

- ask sales and marketing about sales orders and marketing plans and strategies.  

- ask the person in-charge (your deputy or assistance ) about all factory equipment and its status in details (maintenance & performance ) and production capacity and schedules, focus on drum and constraints points.

- put sales orders on your top priorities use push - pull strategy to keep balance and stream mapping to foster work flow 

 make your best effort in planing inventory, manpower, workflow, maintenance in advance and be the first person in factory floor everyday and let all workers see you waiting for them
