Is it necessary to write "Less' or "Add" in financial statements? Can we use any other sign, is it acceptable?

It is not necessary for the firm to indicate ADD or LESS, but such indications are used only to increase the comprehension level of the users. The Firm can also put brackets to indicate the entry which should be deducted, or the firm can simply put a minus sign to indicate the deductions.
