How many modules are there in SAP?

There are different modules like : SD : sales and distribution MM : matrial managment QM : Quality Management PP : Plant product PM : Plan Management FI : Finance CO : Controle Management HR : Human ressources

SAP has many "modules" and the most commonly used ones are FICO, SD, MM, HCM, PP, PM, QM. 

There are other solutions that are considered modules such as CRM, SRM, BI.

SAP has a modular structure and very flexible and customizable ERP solution. It is very difficult to give an exact count of modules but they can be broadly categorized into-1) Functional (e.g. FI, CO, HCM, MM, SD, PP, PM etc)  2) Technical (e.g. Basis, ABAP etc)  

SAP has many functional modules.   There are Logistics modules like:  - Material management (MM) - Sales & distribution (SD), - Production, Planning & Control (PP) - Product Data Management (PDM) - Quality Management (QM) - Plant maintenance (PM) - Project systems (PS)     And there are Finanacial modules like:  - Financial Accounting (FI) - Controlling (CO)   Finally, there is a module to manage Human Resources: - Human Capital Management (HCM)
