LUCK is a wrongly used term. It is like fortune favours brave .......Luck favours bold......You have to participate in order to check the luck and participation itself is a bold decision. Those who waits for things to happen never see the shining sun. LUCK : Lack of Understanding Controlled Kick.......So better anticipate and expect it to happen.

Luck is there, but it is not everything.  I may call it "adequacy of circumstances outside your direct control"  And ,,, yes ,, this plays a role in success in business, but it is not all putting yourself where you can get lucky ... to me ... means "proper positioning to recognize the opportunity when it becomes feasible and achievable"  ... and this means lots of things that have to do with you, with your business model, with your market approach, your internal processes, your focus, your own SWOT analysis details, ... etc ... etc

I think Businesses dont rely rely on luck rather on planing... they try to make things happen

This phrase is nonsense.  It's based on a completely wrong definition of 'luck'.

What the phrase means is, don't sit around waiting for something good to happen, get out there and find or create opportunities, and take advantage of the tiniest opening.  That is excellent advice, but it has nothing to do with luck.

Luck is the thing you can't control.  Luck is when you're playing golf and the ball bounces off a tree, is caught by the flag of the pole and brought to the ground, and then the wind blows it into the hole, and so your partner insists on going to the clubhouse afterwards (which you were planning not to do)  for a celebratory drink and to tell the story of your hole in one, and there is somebody at the bar who is in town for one day only because their flight was cancelled thanks to a volcano in Iceland, and it turns out that his brother's ex-wife's half-sister is an almond farmer looking for new markets, and your current business problem is how to get hold of a reliable supply of almonds.

I do not believe luck

You come to work and opportunities

Well the opposite could be true, doing nothing and getting lucky. It still boils down to circumstances and individuality, even you put yourself out there.

Sometimes it makes sense to step aside and to let some of the action go on while you observe. It might turn out that you were lucky just because you decided to "sit around" and watch :))

If you mean opportunities not Luck, I would agree.

Successful business people do not get chances randomly, they always look for opportunities; and they would also create opportunities and work on them. A successful business person does not sit and wait for success and prosper to come over.
