Never discuss the salary unless and until you are asked about it. Salary negotiations are always carried out after receiving a job offer. Therefore, saying the wrong things during the interview might cost you the job, while saying the right things might get you the job.

How to deflect the salary question

If the employer in the interview asks you this and you really don’t want to answer it just yet, then here are a few ways you can deflect the questions.

‘I’m quite open and slightly flexible on salary as the opportunity to add value and to be valued is important to me. I’d appreciate knowing how you value this position and what your budget is for this role?’

**** Body language here can imply positive impression so that there would be no offense!

i'll never ask for a salary till the interviewer ask me for my expected salary, and you have to do like this as no one will ask for money before knowing if he is accepted or not.

in addition, salary will be determined at least after i know what is my Job description what are my responsibilities that i'll be paid for........etc.

anyhow never ask for salary before the interviewer asked you.

Generally the interviewer may ask you for your expectations regarding salary.

Your answer - My salary in my previous job was ........ & I feel that with my qualification & experience & as employees with similar credentials are earning ........., I may be considered at par with them & be paid accordingly.

Disclose your salary only when asked. Regarding the expected salary, study the average salary for a specific job in industry. You can get this on bayt.com or other job boards.
