we need to understand the company size, product( dealing in). since both  professional education are having good opportunities, and career ,so both can be looked as good career growth, but yes Charted accounted have a edge over the period of time , since he start getting experience , there will be constant growth in the salary , where as software person may have to wait for the increment of salary, since there will have less inclusion in the decision making process of software person. 

Both are important and profitable fields.

In my opinion Charted Accounting achieve it  if you have a professional certifications such as CMA, CPA or ACCA .

depends on how far you go

If you stick to being software eng., then CA get paid more

but if you progress to a ceo or owner of software house, u may hire CAs.

It depends on professional expertise or depend upon the company financial or market wealth,
