What thickness should i use for the fiber glass insulation? and why?

inside the building you should use1" insulation and in shafts2" and at exposed area like the roof3" is better.... the insulation not only save the air cooled tell it reach its destination but it also prevent the outside air from condensing on the duct and casing problems
