I have the motivation to set goals, but not the discipline to follow through with them or make progress.

As projects manager what's your opinion (Which come first self discipline or goal setting)?

Self-discipline and setting goals are closely related. Self-discipline is the ability to direct your thoughts and actions towards a specific objective.  Goal setting is the process of picking the specific objective that you will work towards.

 

To use an analogy, self-discipline is the process of learning to drive a car.  Goal setting is the process of mapping the destination and the route you will take.

Trying to develop self-discipline without setting a goal is like learning to drive in a parking lot.

You might learn a few things, but the real learning comes when you take the car out on the road.  In the context of self-discipline, the “road” is the specific goal you choose.

Self discipline comes first. Generally cannot reach a far good goal without self discipline which is not an easy task comparing to setting goals. 

I believe set up an achievable goals is a first priority then follow up a self discipline to achieve this goal.

motivation is to better promordiale agirmais but combined with discipline is much interesting as souscri paragraph on communication (the most difficult art is not to choose men but to give man they selected all peuvenent value they have)

as a project manager, you should set goal first and follow it with self discipline

If you have motivation to set goals but not discipline you will just waste your time in dreaming, because setting goals needs actions, researches and lot of changes until the goal is shown up, so discipline is primordial from the first moment that the idea of doing something fire up. Without discipline you will lose your dreams but motivation will keep you going along this hard way.
