Which is better: an HTML sitemap or an XML sitemap? Why?

There are websites like blogspot.com [ blogger.com ] , those websites you can't get feedback from there databases with easy way [ some of them use XML as database ] , If you use html with JavaScript you can get data , and if you make your own XML dataset or table you can get data too , so you can use JavaScript or similar and you can use XML [ but you will make it from scratch and that will take time ] , chose what you like [ all the ways take you to Rome ]

HTML site map using to help user to navigate through the website where as XML sitemap helps search engines to navigate through website so definitely XML sitemap is the best
