What does format painter do in excel when u press double click on it?

Click or Double click it starts format painter mode

If double click on the format painter, then the paint bush can be utilised multiple times over the worksheet, almost like butterfly pausing on many flowers.

No need to double click

just click once and it will change the format of target cell similar to origin cell which you have had selected before clicking on format painter icon
