Secondly, to answer your question; in order to have selected a good hotel room you have to select a good hotel with a well known name. You can always refer to some well known websites online that can give you a feedback. However, there are some names in the market that cannot be mistaken.

After consulting a couple of websites and some friends and acquaintances of yours, and when you have selected the hotel, make sure you check the room, the bathroom, the smell, and all the facilities in the room are working and the room is clean. And always have some kind of sanitizes just in case.

First of all, you should check through clients feedback who stayed in same hotel on Trip Adviser or similar website . 

Second , its always better if you make your booking through a travel agency who can provide with their recommended hotel and rooms and it will be always under their responsibility . 

Third , even if you made your booking through agency , call the hotel and ask them for good room . 

Last step , when you reach hotel , ask to see the hotel room so you can have an idea about the goodness of the room in general .
