What are the essentiality of keeping full details in the Counterfoils of Cheque book at the time of issuing cheques and preserving the same safely?

writing the essentials of the check on the counterfoil is important for the following reasons:

in case the check is lost by the beneficiary

in case the payment order is missed from accounting documents.

auditors may access the counterfoil if there is a mistake in the amount recorder in the books.

accountants can have easy access

* To check by whom respective cheque was got signed in case of having more than one authorized signatories for bank account.

* Record maintained on counterfoils can be helpful in bank account reconciliation.
