What is more important, deadlines or quality of work?

Quality should always win, otherwise you could be making decisions based on flawed or incomplete information.
You could always ask the question "do I need a complete and thorough understanding or do I just need clarity to make my decisions", obviously the effort to delivery clarity is a lot less than having a full understanding.

I believe meeting deadlines is a factor of quality work.
They complete each other.
On the other hand meeting deadlines should not compromise the quality of work therefore project management is significant and critical when it comes to planning.

Most important is to meet clients expectations and he expects to get a project delivered within timelines and with good quality of work.
without good quality of work, never a project can be called as delivered.

Both are more important.
Quality of work and meeting deadlines go hand in hand , they are like two sides of a coin.
One can't be achieved by comprising the other.
The real accomplishment would b to achieve the best quality of work within the stipulated time.

Quality of work with in dead line is the actual Point.

But Quality of Work is more important than dead line. 

dead lines can be change but quality can't be change again and again.

 

Dead Line stands between mutual Understanding. it will be fine.

but Quality is tough to make fine. so quality of work is more important.

Both are the same in importance; there are no benefits from work done adequately and in proper manner without take in your consideration time frame, also if you achieve your work in timely manner and neglected the quality of work, the result is nothing.

One must realize that there is a connective relationship and one must maintain high standards despite pressing deadlines; does work right the first time; corrects own errors; regularly produces accurate, thorough, professional work all while adhering to the deadlines set forth in the project.

Quality of work is more important than meeting deadline and 'meeting deadline' is a quality of your work as well. If quality is not maintained the whole project will get affetced, deadlines are just delaying the commencement of the project but can be met deadlines if break downs are set off in the middle of the project.

My point of view is that both are important; we just have to respect deadlines insuring a good quality of goods.

In the long run, higher quality results in more deliverables or less development time or both. But in the short run, you will see deadline overruns and you have to be prepared for that.

When you meet an immovable object, you have to give way. If deadlines cannot be changed or compromised, then something else will have to be gone instead. This should be best accomplished by reducing the feature set for the deadline release, but sometimes, at the individual level, quality takes a step back. Sometimes, the reduced quality may be imperceptible, but over time, it adds up to a poorer system that is less maintainable and less extensible.If you want to fix this, it is necessary to change the emphasis from “meet the deadline” to “meet the quality standards”. First improve quality, and only then examine productivity issues. If you try to improve productivity first, quality may decrease and also reduce net productivity as the team is pulled into fixing quality problems.
