Firefox OS went live on 1st July, do you think so it would make the impact against the giants like Android/iOS?

It's not expressive similar to Android/iOS, indeed great move by Firefox to promote open web standards, it's just the beginning of the new era.

no impact on android/ios because these are operating systems for mobile whereas firefox is a browser instead of operating system.
