What are some of the most important things you learned when student teaching?

Never ASSUME that a particular student knows a particular answer, always check! I've had students nodding wisely about a topic and they appear to be grasping the subject well, only to find out, that when questioned, they haven't really understood what is being spoken about!!

The most important thing while teaching a student is teach them the  way they likes.
