A robot can be classified into3 classifications, Its Mechanical, Electronics and Software Design.

If we think of the main part of each type of robot, its mechanical linkages design have an important role in describing the locomotion of a robot, which describes its D.O.F and DH parameters, hence being a main part of each robot.
