When a private equity fund or an angel investor invests in a new business, it will ask for a large shareholding with the same money if it invests at idea stage (very rarely done, unless the entrepreneur has a successful track record. New entrepreneurs can sell smaller shareholding to PE/VC funds at MVP stage. Hence, if you have the required funds to reach MVP stage and are confident about the product, wait till the MVP stage is reached.
