1. One of the major responsibilities of the supervisor or boss is to support, guide and motivate the subordinate. Hence the success of subordinate links to supervisor
2. Supervisor allocates tasks / duties among all his subordinates and the success of subordinates ideally means the accomplishment of the goals of boss himself.
This question is not as simple as it appears to be. I am reminded of a quote of Napoleon Bonaparte whom I studied keenly in the past. He said " An army of lions lead by a stag is bound to fail" I however always felt that this statement has been inconclusive and incomplete in nature. I think that to fully understand the concept one would need to consider the other three hypothesis too ie an army of stags led by a lion, an army of stags led by a stags and an army of lions lead by a lion. It is thus necessarily a case of win win, win loose and loose loose. Where I agree with some of the writers above when they consider it to be a true statement I strongly feel that it necessarily is a relation between the Shepard and the KNOWING sheep not animals. We must consider that it is human behavior that we are talking about not merely a bunch of animals who need to be spoon fed. I thus feel that the success of any human being as an individual depends on his own self and the success of an institutions as a whole depends on the leader, However, both need the right individual input in order to attain collective success.
