What is the main difference between Group & Team. Which one will support project success?

Group could be a simple collection of individuals without cohesion and purpose! Without a common focus groups always fail to achieve.

On the contrary A TEAM is a purposefully assembled group of individuals to achieve a given objective.

ALBERT EINSTEIN said TEAMWORK IS THE FUEL THAT ALLOWS COMMON PEOPLE TO

ATTAIN UNCOMMON RESULTS

Teamwork is defined in Webster's New World Dictionary as "a joint action by a group of people, in which each person subordinates his or her individual interests and opinions to the unity and efficiency of the group."

This does not mean that the individual is no longer important; however, it does mean that effective and efficient teamwork goes beyond individual accomplishments.

The most effective teamwork is produced when all the individuals involved harmonize their contributions and work towards a common goal.

It's good to be individually brilliant and to have strong core competencies; but unless you're able to work in a team and harness each other's core competencies, you'll always perform below par because there will always be situations at which you'll do poorly and someone else does well.

Project success depends on the team spirit and teams working towards a common goal

A well coordinated Team is dedicated towards Project success. The members of the team are aligned and brought together to work towards achieving common targets and objectives and they operate in synergy.

Dear Sir,

A group doesn't necessarily constitute a team because a team requires a coordinated effort. A team is more specialized in that it includes common resources and collective effort. Characteristics of a group are interdependence, interaction, synergy, common goals, and shared norms. A group can be informal, such as3-12 people that are in a meeting to discuss a business problem. Teams are structured more formally and are sometimes assigned. Teams have a purpose, specific goals, and assigned duties. Teams need to have different members with special roles in order to help achieve a common goal.

Team will support project success.

Appreciate your question and i hope that i given the answer.

Regards

Bekshan
