What are the new ways that a teacher can do to help students to understand the lesson?

Develop an embedded approach to teaching, i.e. break up the lesson into an understanding of students' previous learning experiences and the level they come into your class with....then combine that knowledge with a lesson plan that identifies a separate need to understand the technical language used, the cognitive skills required to complete tasks, culminating in you closely integrating these elements into the content you teach.
