It is very important to put ourselves in the shoes of speakers. Active listening makes the speaker feel the audience are paying attention to him/her and feels satisfied that his/her words are useful to the attendees. Whoever organizes traininig, key information sharing feels bad and thinks it's waste of time if people do not pay attention to him/her. 

So, with active listening to speakers it will make the meetings/sessions interactive and will result in success..

People communications ( among people) needs to be effective to produce the desired/anticipated results. It is more advanced and more subtle than machine-to-machine or machine-to-man communications. In people communications, there is what is said, and there is what can be understood even if not said. There are the gestures, the tone, the body language and much much more !

Without adaption we cannot understand the communication held for the purpose it was organized. So its equally important to be understood and make understood.
