Why do employers seeking too much qualifications and experiences towards applicants?

This has something to do with traditions. There is a general assumption in industry that a higher academic qualification and a highly experienced employee will be beneficial to the company. To an extent it is right, however the generalization is wrong and in the long run doesn't help company.
