here I am only asking about the exposure rather than any benefit , and compared to having your own store outside Facebook e-commerce API. Also can I use it if I already have a successful online store.
I think there is no real benefit of using facebook store, it will keep your users on facebook with out going to your website (disadvantage)
I prefer facebook buy button which you can add directly to your product post.
For Exposure only Goals (Brand Awareness), Facebook store helps you to bring in audience that has interest in your products by creating campaigns to increase more followers. Once the followers are attained (after the end of the campaigns) to your facebook store, you have a good chance of increased conversions (followers into customers) for your products to be added in future, as the followers 'liked' or 'followed' your page because they would like to see the products you post and may be thinking to buy any time soon.
In brief, Even if you have a successful online store. Facebook store is highly recommended as the audience you build itself can be helpful for conversions in the future.
