What is method of making a color gradient in photoshop?

There are two ways of creating a gradient effect in Photoshop

1. The Gradient tool: holding Alt at the paint bucket tool (on the tools bar)  the Gradient tool will appear, from there drag the mouse on the screen in the direction you want the gradient to show, you can also edit the gradient colors at the top of the pae where there would be a black and white gradient, dropping the side bar menu and working with the colours needed.

2. Layer Properties: Gradient: make sure you are on the layer you wsh to create a gradient on, go to layer, leyer style, gradient overlay, from there you can edit the colors and positions of colours by hitting on the small tabs underneath the gradient, you can also change the style and angle of the gradient from the menu that appears, you can also edit the opacity, scale and blend mode from the same menu, once you chose all the properties, click ok.
