Measuring a patient's satisfaction depends on the healthcare facility where the treatment is being provided, whether its a clinic or a hospital.
How well equipped the healthcare facility is, to provide appropriate management.
"Treatment is never a goal".
Keeping this in mind measuring a patient satisfaction becomes simple by understand patients needs and his level of disturbance/pain as well as tolerance.
Some patients maybe frustrated, some maybe calm, some may ask a lot of questions and a few may want treatment for primary or secondary gain.
It all comes down to management and continuity of patient's concerns and care.
Time being spent in waiting rooms is a huge factor in patient satisfaction.
Appropriate and effective triaging of patients enabling faster and controlled number of doctor visits in clinics and ER, giving appropriate patient education maintaining proper staff communication to avoid miscommunication, taking matter to patient's every concern no matter how repetitive and frustrating it becomes to the staff, keeping stress low amongst staff to maintain a fitting environment for the patient to discuss his complaints, prompt management including diagnostic procedures, availability of multilingual translators or multilingual doctors to bring establish a comfortable conversation to patient and his family, maintaining confidentiality and respecting patients decisions according to medical ethics.

the best way would be to be a mock patient and rate on your own terms the organization's response to your healthcare needs.

the questions you may need to rate & answer are

How was the entrance of the clinic - welcoming?

how were the reception staff

where you properly guided or was there a "I don't know" on the faces of the staff

was your appointment admission on time

was your case studied well before putting you in the correct priorities

where you asked as to how you are feeling at the reception

where you felt special in any way

was there in any manner any of staff went out of wat to make you more welcome & comfortable

where you given treatment in the timely manner with appropriate medications

was the appointment  followup done smoothly after checking it with you

was the phebotomist friendly (a wooden appreance on their faces is often noted)

did the pharmacist properly explain to u the dosage in the language preferred by you

 

after such a visit we should jot down the good , average & bad experince with each of the people you interacted with in the duration of your visit

 

suggestions for the organization clinic

let the pharmist at the time of dispatching medications attach a note to brighten up the day of the patient

have a vending machine that gives out change

schedule the appotintment on time

never ever make a patient wait for unwanted reasons

rather than scolding a patient of their negligence in taking care of themselves make realise the outcomes of it

take care of patients as if they are of your family

feel good from inside & start your day smiling & remebering a funny incident or a joke

entertain your patients with your humour

make them trust you & develop a rapport with them

talk to them with respect ( if possible with their first names  -  this shows that you do know thier names & they just aren't "a you" . this shows them that  they are respected as a individual)

spend atleast10 mins reveiwing patinet history before seeing the patinet

list the things you have to tell them after seeing their reports

if you do have a doubt of things  or are unable to decide please let the patient know of the risks in either of the decisions they choose to go for

always provide the safest advice & then let them know of the second best option/s with placing mild stress on the first said option
