We have the each bulb and the supply work at the same VOLT=240 V, so the VOLT is constant.

But the RESISTANCE differs according to the type of connection (Series or Parallel)

Let's assume they are only2 bulbs, with Resistance of2 ohm for each one.

If we connect them in series, their total resistance would be2+2=4 ohm.

If we connect them in parallel, their total resistance would be2*2/2+2=1 ohm.

That's why they are found to be deam. Because in series connection resistance increases.

While in parallel connection, the resistance decreases.

To make it more clear,

Take a look into Ohm's Law, (V=IR Where V is constant), that means The lower the resistance is= The higher the current would be (More bright or not deam)

Dear sir

240 volts devided by24 bulbs equel10 volts for each bulb these voltage can not ectivate the bulbe ,you have to connect them into parallel to get the bulbs on.
