it helps you to find out the root cause of the problems.

talking about5 Why analysis, it was a simple5 why questions introduced by Toyota founder Kiichiro toyada's father Sakichi, by asking question "why... why...why" you will be able to seperate symptomps from the causes of problems.

today, few companies are enhancing further5 why analysis to3x5why which gives you opportunity to reveal :

1. technical rootcause --> how it was technically happened

2. escapee rootcause --> how it was escape

3. systemic rootcause --> how your system allow above2 happened

 

no doubt,5 why analysis is a tool for us to improve our problem solving skills. but take note, this tool also tricky for those lazy people... :-)
