I am not sure I understand your question, but I suggest that this is not a good idea. These are two different worlds and I beleive that you have to be in one of them to succeed.

If you are asking about the initial investment, I thain that it will depend on the type of business you are planning to launch.

Since you will not be runnin the business  then risk stack is pretty high , If I would want to start a business I would find an idea that I truly believe in , quit my job and jump in and at that point how much of your own money does not really matter .

I got it.

When you think to start a new business don't push all your money in the project but only you may use the area between one to two thirds of your money. It depends on the volume of business requirements.

By33% to66% of your money you could start your business.

Dear, of course its too difficult to gather between private business & to be an employee , to have a new business you should consider a varity of factors:

1. Your age , after 50  yrs the private business become with high risk

2. what kind of business you are looking too, for example, if you are looking to deal woth forex , this is a very risky business

3. did you have share holders or not this will minimize risk

4. you should start with your money not a loan

5. you should be familiar with the business which you are looking for, minimize risk

at the end , its related to your Crisma , if you have risky personality go for50 -70% ( if you have experience - take care ) , if you are risk averse10-15 % of your capital. good luck
