Before starting any exercise regimen particularly strength training, it is always a good idea to know what your limits are. Most individuals would just simply jump into anything in the gym and then later on find themselves injured or have no progress at all. This is where certified fitness professionals come into play. A personal trainer may be able to assess and address muscle imbalances, mobility and flexibility which limits full range of motion and level of fitness. They could also design a custom exercise program geared towards increasing strength and help you achieve your goals. With that said, it would be good to have an idea what variations of exercises are available for specific body parts, sets/reps & rest times, proper form and technique execution, and different styles of weight/resistance training.
