The acceptable  duration of new sale  is depended to the kind of product and visible market. and the best duration is3 months which can make  sale stable .

I would say3-4 months.

 

First two months are generally a learning months. They learn about the products/service, target market, customers/clients, marketing plan, and getting to know the company itself.
