The differences between coaching and mentoring include:

 

Coaching

Focuses on both individual and organizational goals

Shorter terms

Can be between same level employees or even a junior level can coach a senior

The coach gets all the objectives and plan of action from the coachee

 

Mentoring

Focuses more on individual goals

Longer term (could be a lifetime)

Relationship between a senior employee with a junior employee

The mentor can advise the mentee on a better approach
