Futurists, where are you? Online vs. Offline. Will e-commerce replace offline entirely?

1) To estimate the time when most of the world would be device enabled and connected, that would be too far fetched if I said it would happen in the next 5-10 years.

Hence globally, the offline vs online argument would be rather regionally dependent.

 

2) ecommerce cannot "replace" the brick and mortar business model. It can "add value", and "run parallel".

Take the example of amazon. Everyone thought they could do it. But eventually they also decided to dedicate a part in brick and click modelling.

 

3) Businesses that "enable" themselves online and offline according to their best process re-engineering costing, will always succeed rather than blindly jumping the boat on whim.
