What value do you place on the grammatical correctness of your correspondence and is SMS text language acceptable?

I've seen a lot of grammatically incorrect documents where English is the individual's first language. Also; colleagues know never to submit text language format to me. Incorrect spelling or punctuation can cause misinterpretation of sentences. Is this a sign of poor literacy? I've seen better usage of a language by someone who isn't a native speaker of the language they are corresponding in.

I believe in a clear and perfect text of message for a purposeful communication. It becomes more important to ensure correct grammar and spellings in your official correspondence.

The short cuts being used in SMS texts are actually spoiling the language and it'll put long term effects on the respective languages.

According to me , grammatical correctness of any message is extremely important. Sometimes, even a small misplaced word can make a lot of difference to the mater that we intend to communicate. Hence it is important that we re-read any information that we have drafted and make sure it is grammatically correct and it relays the exact message that we want to transfer.

SMS text language always use short forms and hence it should not be used in official communication. Only in situations where the sender or receiver do not have access to emails, SMS should be used as a means of communication.

In the case of sending SMS texts, it depends on who the recipient of the text message is. Having said that, it also depends on how much you practice your grammar. If you apply it in your every day life and in your activities then it will become a habit.

However, if someone is afraid of submitting any for of text to you, then that means they don't really like to be criticized which is a mistake when you're trying to improve your language skills.

I believe grammar is important in all styles and will very rarely use cellphone text to send my message. At the very least i will type "You" as "U" and "You're" as "ur" but that's it.

For a person2 typ lyk dis2 me puts me off completely. Language needs to be embraced!

we must not take it totally malfunction of language, it can be taken as advent of modern communication and for sure, it enhances your abilities of understanding quickly,,,, as i usually write this text to my friends in urdu. (w84 me hum2,9,1,7 khana khaenge) (w8=wait, 4=for,  me=me, hum=we,2,9=both (will)1,7=togather, khana=food, khaenge=eat) means (wait for me, we will eat food togather) in pure english, if you are given words to rearrange the words, correct inverted words, etc you can solve them easily....
