Behance is probably the best place to showcase work .I've worked on a tumblr portfolio of a graphic designer with custom theme.I liked that also.If you can use CMS like Wordpress you'll find many good portfolio themes free of cost.Those who know basics of themes usage,can google  variety of even free portfolio themes that can be customized easily.
